Dorothy starts seeing Glen, a teacher at the school where Dorothy is working. Everything is going flawlessly until Glen confesses that he’s married. It’s a bad marriage but he can’t leave it. Dorothy breaks it off with Glen but eventually gets back together with him. Blanche needs a new car and tries to pawn off her current one on Rose because she can’t get the full amount on a trade-in. Rose tells Blanche that the car seems to be getting worse but Blanche repeatedly convinces Rose not to worry.

Dorothy eventually realizes that she’s not cut out for the role of “the other woman” and breaks up with Glen again. Glen is unwilling to leave his marriage, and Dorothy can’t stay with someone who wants to have it both ways, a safe home life and a more exciting life of the side.
