Blanche has been seeing a wealthy man named Richard. They’re relationship starts off wonderfully. Blanche has fallen in love with him. Richard is a wonderful man. He’s kind hearted, is great to his kids, when he’s not working too hard, and treats Blanche exceedingly well. He ends up proposing, but she doesn’t believe she can marry him. Rose and Dorothy struggle to install the new toilet. Rose knows about plumbing but the two have nothing but trouble. They end up having to redo the entire bathroom. But they eventually figure it out, sort of.

Richard hardly has time for his kids and Blanche can tell that it’s hurting them. Moreover, she knows that she’d be third in his life, after his work and then his children. As well as Blanche ended up getting along with Richard’s kids, she makes him realize that what they really need is more of their father in their lives. She makes the difficult decision that she can’t marry Richard, not yet anyway, but would love to down the line if he’s able to reorganize his priorities better.
