The girls entertain their new neighbors, the McDowells. They seem like a sweet couple. But two detectives stop by and inform them that they are notorious dealers of stolen gems. They ask to set up shop at the house because the McDowells may be making a major buy in the very near future. The girls eventually agree. Things get off to a rocky start between Dorothy and Al. They are at each other’s throats all the time. But we see that it’s really a love-hate relationship and they both are revealed to have feelings for each other. The girls go to the McDowells’ for dinner and plant a transmitting device so Al and Bobby can know when the exchange will be going down.
Al hears on the transmitter that it’s about to happen and he and Bobby go to the McDowells’ to make the bust. Bobby gets shot but is just fine. The McDowells are going to be put away for a long time. Al asks Dorothy out but she turns him down. The events during the bust made her realize just how serious Al’s job is. And she can’t get involved with someone who could get hurt every time he goes to work. Al understands and the two wish each other well in the future.
