It’s Mother’s Day and Sophia is anxious to get to the buffet Dorothy promised to take her to. But they can’t leave until everyone gets their calls from their children. Phil calls… well he sort of calls using a creative method. Dorothy tells of a time when she and Stan had to ask his mother for money. Stan’s mother seems to hate Dorothy. But she reveals that it’s an act. She only acts like that because her yutz son would hang around all the time if he knew she liked Dorothy. Rose gets a call from her grandson. Blanche talks about the last Mother’s Day she spent with her mother.
We then see a look back to the time when Rose helps a sweet old lady get to make the trip to see her daughter who passed away some time prior. Sophia talks about the Mother’s Day when she and Sal asked her mother to move in. Michael calls Dorothy and Sophia to wish them both a happy Mother’s Day. And finally, Blanche gets a call she didn’t expect and is incredibly moved.
