Dorothy’s childhood best friend Trudy McMann comes to Miami for a high school reunion. They were hugely competitive and pulled practical jokes on each other growing up. We see that hasn’t changed a bit today. The two decide to play tennis while Trudy is in Miami, just like the old days. But something goes terribly wrong. Trudy ends up collapsing and dying on the court. Dorothy is devastated. She feels like she was responsible. She forgets about the reunion party. She doesn’t know how she’ll able to get though it.

The people at the party start wondering why Dorothy has been so scarce and where Trudy is. Dorothy realizes that she has to tell everyone what happened. But she starts to lose her composure in the middle of her explanation so Sophia breaks the news. Dorothy runs out of the room crying. The doorbell rings. It’s Trudy! She said she staged the whole thing as a practical joke. She goes to tell Dorothy and finds her in bed with Trudy’s husband. They reveal they were playing a joke on her. Dorothy realized that maybe this was the ultimate joke and dragged the truth out of her husband. Trudy thinks it’s wonderful and they hug. Blanche tells Dorothy off. She says that it was cruel to do what she did and not fill in her two best friends. She’s gone too far and the friendship is over. But she says she was kidding. Dorothy was totally fooled by Blanche’s joke.
