Blanche meets a man named Ted at the library. She makes a date with him but is shocked when she discovers Ted is in a wheelchair. She initially wants to cancel the date but ends up deciding to go. She asks Sophia to be her chaperone in an attempt to make things less awkward. She goes to Ted’s apartment and makes a few faux pas. She eventually loosens up and the two seem to have a wonderful night.

Dreyfuss, Harry Weston’s dog, fathers a litter of puppies. He says Rose can keep one. She falls in love with the dog but has to find a new home for him because he requires more care than Rose can provide. Blanche mulls over her relationship with Ted. She feels he wants to take things to the next level. She’s not sure what to do. Eventually she decides to give a more serious relationship a try with Ted. But he admits that he’s married. Blanche is devastated and tells him to get out. She promises never to pick up another man… in a library… on a Saturday… unless he’s cute… and drives a nice car.
